Digital Blue Foam is 30 Months Old
Digital Blue Foam is hitting puberty
It’s been 30 months since we launched in Las Vegas. Soon will be taking some big leaps as a company on all fronts. To prepare for this, we have spent the last 6 months intensely testing, refining, and improving Digital Blue Foam.
Aside from the product development, we have been growing marvelous new capabilities in engineering, R&D, and growth, as we plot, plan and strategize our move to the SAAS business model.
On a personal level this year big change. Back in January, I resigned from my academic position to devote my 100% energy to DBF. Despite the challenge of moving countries during a once-in-a-century pandemic, I arrived in Singapore in April and moved next door to our CEO Camiel.
Despite the grind, the past 6 months have been some of the best times ever.
Since May, we have been meeting with between 5 and 10 companies every week to understand our product-market-fit. This was a huge endeavor facilitated by our incredible neighborhood Growth Officer Julie. We collected a huge trove of feedback and insight from these meetings. This feedback has been synthesized into over 70+ new high-value features.
Digital Blue Foam 2021 Launch Event
Perhaps the biggest highlight of the past quarter was our 2021 Launch Event where we unveiled our biggest update ever. We were extremely grateful to everyone who joined the event — over 700 people signed up from 25 countries! If you didn’t get a chance to see the event, you can view a recording of the entire event here.
Major Updates from Q3 2021
- Development and refinement of growth and sales funnel. Multiple new enterprise projects are currently in negotiation-phase
- Release of two white papers. The first talks about a novel neighborhood scoring system, we developed based on the concept of the “15-minute city”. The second talks about how we have developed a new workflow for synthetic machine learning, and how we are using this to analyze building daylighting.
- The long-awaited launch of DBF Hub — which allows our users to sync models to Revit and Archicad in real-time.
- We have confirmed the first 3 members of our Scientific Advisory Committee. More on this soon!
- We deployed our first ML analysis feature for computing Daylight Autonomy based on location.
- We launched our new shiny new website. Thank you, Julie, Cesar, Gareth, and the rest of the team for making this colossal project a reality.
